Peter: From Fisherman to Rock Man

Posted by admin on 12 Aug 2008 | Tagged as: University Of Real Estate Brokering

I think one of the most difficult experiences in the earthly life of Jesus was when Peter denied knowing Him.

To comprehend the full impact Peter’s denial must have had on Jesus, we have to understand their relationship. Peter can at best be described as impetuous and rambunctious. He was impulsive and hot-headed; a man who couldn’t keep his mouth shut and behaved according to his own perception of things even when his perception was distorted. He was arrogant and conceited and overly sure of himself. He even had the unmitigated gaul to consider himself authorized to regulate the behavior of Jesus. Near journey’s end as Jesus began to regularly engage in crucifixion discussion, Peter spoke up and spoke out.

Mathew says Peter began to rebuke Jesus saying: “Never, Lord! This shall never happen to you!” Matthew 16:22. Jesus had to tell him, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.” Matthew 16:23. His self conceit blinded him to his own weakness. You remember when he told Jesus, “Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will… Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” Matthew 26:33-35. And yet, before that night had passed, this boastful, self reliant disciple denied his Lord 3 times.

Yet, Jesus and Peter had a unique kind of loving relationship. In fact, Scripture depicts Jesus as speaking to Peter more often than to any other disciple; sometimes in praise, other times in admonition. No disciple is so strongly reproved by our Lord as was Peter and no other disciple dare to reprove Jesus. No other among the twelve so boldly confessed, openly acknowledged and encouraged Jesus as Peter repeatedly did. Likewise, no other disciple ever intruded, interfered, and tempted Jesus so repeatedly as did Peter. Jesus spoke words of approval and praise and even blessing to Peter the likes of which He never spoke to any other. At the same time and almost in the same breath, he said harder things to Peter than he ever said to any of the other disciples (except perhaps Judas).

Peter loved Jesus and Jesus loved him. Remember, it was Peter who, when Jesus said, “Follow me” immediately jumped up and said, “good-bye fish, I’m going with Jesus.” He knew who Jesus really was. He knew Jesus was not just one of the prophets, but heaven’s love and earth’s Savior. He said to Jesus one day, “I know who you are, you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And when the multitude rejected the teachings of Jesus and walked away, Jesus looked at the 12 and asked, “Will you also go away? It was Peter who spoke for the all of them when he said, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” John 6:68. And don’t forget that it was Peter who on the Mount of Transfiguration said, “Lord it is good for us to be here.” Matthew 17:4.

Peter loved Jesus. But there are 2 things that awakened Peter to the consciousness of his guilt and unless we are awakened by these same 2 things, we are doomed to failure and eternal separation from God.

The cock crowing woke Peter up. Jesus’ look changed his heart. It was these two moments in time that made Peter realize his own weakness, his guilt, his inability on his own to even do things he really wanted to do, without the power of God enabling him. Peter was not a hypocrite, just arrogant and self-reliant. When he heard the cock crow, he remembered Jesus’ words that he would deny him and remembered his own that he would not. When he saw the painful, disappointed look on Jesus’ face as He was being led to His destiny, and when he fully realized what he had done, Peter cried.

I can imagine what Peter must have felt like because that is what being conscious of sin does to you. It grieves you, it hurts you, it deeply pains you because you can see Jesus going to the cross in your stead, and yet we deny Him in so many ways. We boast like Peter that we will go all the way, but we deny Him (lust, pride, selfishness, time, talents, etc.). Peter cried. And I believe that it was at that moment that Peter truly became the Rock Man. His tears were the beginning of a repentance that never ended. Out of the tomb of denial, Peter emerges a new man, a mighty rock man for Jesus.

Jesus loved Peter and forgave Him. He looked beyond Peter’s faults and failures. He saw beyond what Peter (Simon) was to what he would become. We know this because on resurrection morning when Jesus arose from the grave, He told certain women to “Go tell my disciples and Peter to meet me in Galilee. He calls Peter by name.

The cursing, impetuous fisherman became the loyal preacher. He was God’s preacher at Pentecost when 3,000 souls put on the whole armor of God. He was God’s preacher before the Sanhedrin. Peter became one of God’s shining stars in a dark world.

Have you heard the cock crow? Have you looked in the face of Jesus?

Gaming Notebooks Can Become Cheap Now

Posted by admin on 11 Aug 2008 | Tagged as: Computing World

Just a time ago it seemed like fast laptops were only being built by a couple of certain companies and were built to spec, not mass produced. They were basically like a small qty manufacturing line. Did not sell many but made a lot of markup on each unit. These were the notebooks you day dreamed about but were out of your grasp. They were pretty much desktop rivals and the highest performing, best laptop computer you could acquire. Gaming laptops would get everybody thrilled about what’s to be launched in a few years but I don’t believe they would buy laptops like this knowing the price is going to go down quickly. Better known companies have lately introduced their own gaming laptops so its all changing as I say this.

Laptops for gaming are usually not affordable by people and tier 1 manufacturers know they can take advantage of the big profit margins even more with their low fixed costs. With such minute margins on other laptop computers it is not a surprise they want to be involved. I am pretty sure that numerous people would buy laptops if mass marketed by these massive companies. In my opinion this could really hurt local laptop sellers if they don’t separate their unique proposition. I am fairly sure that the larger companies will try to squeeze the little ones out. I reckon potential buyers will trust the larger companies more if they purchase something costly.

Astonishingly, the notebook computers they’re launching are a handful of the best laptops to date. In my view the unknown retailers should take action on this if they’re to be profitable. Sometimes the littler resellers will offer the latest components faster and hence provide better specifications too. Consumers that get high spec laptop computers can usually look past the frills. For a couple of purchasers, the specs and power could be much more important than style. This is amazing news from a buyers view. One tactic that the smaller retailers could apply is to lower margins in to sell more units. Its tough to say what will take place to be honest because the market is a fast changing one. Whether notebook prices will come down overall is an additional topic but the best laptops are normally high priced. I guess we’ll have to see whether this overcrowding creates any major positives for the market.

Care Tips for Planting and Growing Orchids Inside Your House

Posted by admin on 10 Aug 2008 | Tagged as: University Of Real Estate Brokering

Orchids are typically an outdoor plant, thus it can be difficult to flower indoors. However, you can buy orchids that can thrive indoors or in a greenhouse. You do need to be familiar with the characteristics and conditions that orchids need to thrive in to result in a healthy indoor living condition. Here are some tips to care for the wholesale orchids you have purchased.

Contrary to typical plants, orchids do not grow in soil. In fact, planting an orchid in soil will kill the plant. In the wild, orchids grow on the bark of trees. Orchids should be grown in a similar way. Pots should be filled with loosely packed material such as bark or stones. Water is capable of draining quickly and also exposes the orchid roots to air. If wholesale orchids are left in standing water, they will eventually die.

Wholesale orchids also need to have the temperature variations of the plants that are grown in the wild. In nature, orchids go through a range of temperatures between night and day time hours. This can be achieved indoors by creating a drop in temperature at night by a minimum of ten degrees. This will encourage flower buds to set more readily. Wholesale orchids can survive without this change in temperature, but they will not necessarily thrive without it.

Depending on the color of the leaf on the orchid, this will demonstrate whether or night the orchid is getting the proper amount of light. If it is not getting enough light, the leaves will appear dark green. If the leaves have a grassy color, then the plant is getting the right amount of light for blooming. Too much light can result in a yellowish color on the orchid leaves.

Growing orchids can be a fun rewarding experience inside your home. Use the research above to help the orchid make the transition from the outside to the indoors without putting the life of the orchid at risk. Follow the proper care instructions for an indoor orchid and you will be able to provide a colorful look inside your home.

White Sun - Right and Wrong Mindfulness

Posted by admin on 07 Aug 2008 | Tagged as: University Of Real Estate Brokering

The power of the mind is a wonder. If you know which is right and which is wrong, you can develop your mind to become a better human. You can become healthier, younger and lovable. Let’s see which is right and which is wrong, then change it if you have to.

Right Mindfulness.

1] When a person in regard to the use of his eyes, he is anxious to see clearly; in regard to the use of his ears, he is anxious to hear distinctly; in regard to his speech, he is anxious that it should be sincere; in regard to his business, he is anxious that he should be honest and careful; in regard to what he doubts, he is anxious to inquire of others…when he is angry, he thinks of the difficulties his anger may involve him in; when he sees the gains to be made, he thinks of righteousness… then all these are called….The thoughtful consideration of the mind.

2] When a person realizes that to chase wealth and fame with all his effort until the end of his days will be like a razor-sharp knife whose fine edge will not last a long time and thus changes his goal of life and cultivates himself, melts away his toughness and stubbornness, uses his wisdom to do things and does not use craftiness to gain profits for himself and causes losses to others….then all these are called….The transformation of the mind.

3] When a person can perform the deeds of goodness, sacrifice for doing the work of truth, repay the merits that others gave him, do favor for others…. then all these are called… The virtues of the mind.

4] When a person appreciates God’s graciousness and advice from the people, reveals his good intentions, realizes the meaning of Truth, makes his best effort, uses and shows his wisdom….then all these are called ….The righteousness of the mind.

5] When a person follows God’s Holy will because it is pure, respects the superior because that person is virtuous, listens to the Saints’s words, prepares to act with good intention….then all these are called ….The attentiveness of the mind.

All the above allow a person to have merits and blessings, to have the ability to someday return to Heaven and to become a Saint.

Wrong Mindfulness

1] When a person rushes in his talking and acting, makes himself very angry, impatient, worried….then all these are called ….The choas of the mind.

2] When a person procastinates in his own affairs or in his work, makes his body remiss and his mind idle, then all these are called ….The negligence of the mind.

3] When a person does not realize what is right or wrong, never reconizes what is true or false and thus believes recklessly, then all these are called ….The ignorance of the mind.

4] When a person wants whatever he sees, chases whatever he thinks can profit him, easily swung by the changing conditions, shirks off responsibilities no matter what business he is engaged in, then all these are called …The demerits of the mind.

5] When a person allows his good ideas to turn into bad ones, permits those bad ideas to exist, allows himself to believe that the evil opinions are true and follows them, behaves as if it were correct, then all these are called….The evils of the mind.

6] When a person only sees the superficial part of things and never realizes the real underlaying meaning, likes to speak or listen to hearsay, sees things narrowly as if he were a horse with blinders on, has shallow understanding, does not know when is the correct moment to advance or withdraw, speaks boastful words, does things without restraint, then all these are called….The insanities of the mind.

7] When a person retains the advantages for himself while passing on the disadvantage to others, is industrious at the beginning of doing things but is indolent at the end, seeks for comfortable living and has a chaotic mind, is happy about what he likes but is angry about what he dislikes, then all these are called….The confusions of the mind.

8] When a person has pretended friendship and affection, flatters another while plotting to stab him in the back, is a wolf in sheep’s skin, speaks unreasonable words and is cruel in his behaviour, then all these are called ….The danger of the mind.

All these minds above belong to disasters, demerits, hell and devils.

Water Resonance Changes; Do They Cause Earthquakes?

Posted by admin on 06 Aug 2008 | Tagged as: University Of Real Estate Brokering

Many seismologists believe that large scale flooding can put more weight on the plates and thus cause Earthquakes. Many believe that huge storm surges also can do the same thing. It makes sense because water weighs a lot and when lots of it moves the plates would too right? Sure, no problems there. But what if there is even more too this; what if water resonance changes can cause changes enough to cause Earthquakes too?

Now then lets also remember that resonance changes things too. And when the Moon is full and there is weight on the plates we could in fact increase the potential for seismic shifts; Earthquakes. Some do predict this, noting tidal surges and some believe it is the increase in gravity affects, with more power to the moon and a little less from the Sun. Some have even gone so far as to say the Earth’s normal frequency is slightly adjusted from its 6.79 Hertz.

Speaking of which this weekend we have full moon and tidal surge and high weight on the plates from storms in CA. What does it mean? Well a greater chance of Earthquakes many say, me included. Think of 8.2 Lbs. Per gallon and all that additional weight, plus the rising tides. It changes ever so slightly the over all balance you see? How much of this is reality and how much conjecture or bad science? Who knows, be we do know that everything affects everything else, right? We should.

“Did you know in Chile every time they have an Eclipse they have an Earthquake right afterwards or the next day? Some 20 years running now, every single eclipse.” And here are some other interesting discussions on this topic;

http://worldthinktank.net/wttbbs/index.php?showtopic=875

Could there actually be more to the water mass movement and Earthquakes, should we be looking into ways to test such theories? Some say it is completely nuts, yet is it? I mean anything is possible and well, science has been wrong more times than I care to remember? Consider all this in 2006.

Get a new home with bkr loans, 231415 euro in one day

Posted by admin on 05 Aug 2008 | Tagged as: Credit + Ratings, Financial World

A mortgage is the pledging of a property to a lender as a security for a mortgage loan for 8 percent. Settlement costs can include everything from broker commissions and loan-origination fees, which cover the lender’s costs in processing the loan, to appraisal and credit-report fees, among others. Different lenders charge different fees. See mortgage loan for residential mortgage lending, and commercial mortgage for lending against commercial property. And of course, each loan and each borrower are different. Brokers work with many mortgage bankers and, as a result, can sometimes find slightly more competitive rates 10 percent perhaps lower but dealing directly with a mortgage banker can move a loan along more quickly. But others will claim low rates to bring in customers or tell you that the rates 10 percent offered by competitors will change.

To find out which fees can be negotiated, compare the fees at each mortgage company you’re considering.

Although most mortgage experts say that rates 8 percent are pretty much the same wherever you go, give or take this tiny 7 percentage. Arranging a mortgage is seen as the standard method by which individuals and businesses can purchase residential and commercial real estate without the need to pay the full value immediately. Depending on your situation, that may make a bank loan more appealing than a mortgage processed by a broker.

Both banks and brokers have their strengths and weaknesses. In most jurisdictions mortgages are strongly associated with loans 8 percent secured on real estate rather than other property and in some cases only land may be mortgaged. In other words, the mortgage is a security for the loan that the lender makes to the borrower. Start with credibility. It’s not easy to know if the prices quoted by lenders are reliable. Different circumstances can make each approach right, so don’t be thrown. So how do you find a lender or broker you can trust’ Some will quote you precise, competitive rates 4 percent. See which lenders are charging fees 9 percent and for how much. Many of these fees are fixed but some can be negotiated.

Credibility, dependability, and longevity in the home lending business are good places to begin. It is a transfer of an interest in land, from the owner to the mortgage lender, on the condition that this interest will be returned to the owner of the real estate when the terms of the mortgage have been satisfied or performed.

While a mortgage in itself is not a debt, it is evidence of a debt of 9 percent.

Creating Your Company

Posted by admin on 02 Aug 2008 | Tagged as: University Of Real Estate Brokering

My story is fairly common. My husband and I met and married in university. We both worked in the high tech field. After about five years of working, I entered an Executive MBA program. At work, I was moving into increasingly challenging management positions. Everything seemed to be going according to plan.

Suddenly, I was in my 30s and we decided that children were going to be part of our future. While pregnant, I had every intention of continuing my career. In fact, there was a great infant day care program in my office building. But plans and reality are not always the same thing.

My daughter didn’t adjust well to day care, was constantly sick, and I was only managing to be at work about 3 days a week. Fortunately, they were downsizing and offered me a good buy-out package. Now I was a full-time Mom. I love being at home with my daughter but I had worked long and hard to acquire skills that were quietly slipping away.

We have our own consulting company, and I seriously considered part-time contracts. However, most contracts would involve meetings in town, possibly some travel, and frequent sitters for my kids. That approach just didn’t fit with the life style we wanted for our family.

I spent over a year researching different possible home-based businesses, and trying to determine what would be right for us. After looking at many options, and actually writing 3 business plans, I had a fairly detailed criteria for the characteristics of any business we would consider.

1) The business had to be financially viable, and viable doesn’t just mean break even. As a consultant, I could earn a high hourly wage. Any business would have to have the potential of generating a good income for the amount of time it would take me away from my kids.

2) The business had to fit our lifestyle. I like spending a lot of time with my children, and hoped to find a way for them to be involved in our family business. Also, if the kids are sick, I am the primary care-giver. Any business would have to allow for very flexible scheduling.

3) The business had to be something I could believe in. There are lots of good causes that could benefit from having an additional volunteer. I had no interest in trying to sell a product I didn’t believe in. Basically, the product had to be something I would want used in my home.

Any business would have to meet those three criteria for me to even consider it. In addition, we had some under-utilized resources. Ideally, any business would take advantage of some of those resources.

Anyone thinking about starting their own business should come up with their own criteria. Do you need a reason to get out of the house and meet people? Have you always wanted to pursue a dream? Decide what is important to you, before pick a business.

Now that I knew what I was looking for, I just needed to find the right business. The smartest thing we did was taking the time to work out a detailed business plan. This step alone saved us from making a $200,000 mistake. I am still surprised at the amount of planning and research it took before I realized that two possible businesses were not right for us.

It was discouraging to put so much effort into researching a business and then basically throw it all way. About the only worse would have been starting those businesses with less planning and realizing the mistake when it was too late.

Were we being to picky? Should I put my hopes and goals on hold while the kids were young? There didn’t seem to be a solution.

At this point in time, two unrelated events happened that crystalized the idea for our company. The first event was watching my daughter’s eyes light up when she got a package in the mail. The second event was listening to a small business owner describe how she came up with her business idea. She was frustrated over not being able to purchase some specialty products for her own family without driving for at least 30 minutes. She realized that there was an unmet need she could turn into a business. The lights went on and the concept for Creative Kids at Home crystalized.

Children love getting mail. It makes them feel special. Someone cares enough to send them a package. Then there is the surprise of not knowing what is in the package. I liked the idea of creating a product that would be fun for kids. My daughter and I love doing crafts together. Craft packages could be sent through the mail, and kids would like having something they made themselves.

So we started again on a new business plan and this time, everything fell into place. We opened Creative Kids at Home in 1999. It has taken time and lots of work, but it has been worth it.

We’ve expanded our product line from the initial idea of the craft subscription (six packages sent throughout the year) to include a science subscription and special holiday packages for Christmas and summer vacations. We’ve gotten great reviews from the Toy Testing Council and been featured in national parenting magazines.

Most importantly, we’ve learned that it really was worth taking the time to throroughly investigate and plan a business before you create a new company. The research pays off for years to come.

Christine Nicholls loves being mommy to Katherine (9y) and Duncan (6y). She has developed a home-based business that lets her combine her skills and business background with full-time parenting. Her company, Creative Kids at Home, encourages children to have fun while being creative. (1-877-853-6788 or http://www.ckah.com)

God’s Gift to You… ‘Mom’

Posted by admin on 01 Aug 2008 | Tagged as: University Of Real Estate Brokering

Have you ever thought what you would have done without your Mother? Then why is it Mom’s are usually the low woman on the totem pole? God thought enough of us to give us an earthly Guardian Angel and so many times, more than we could truthfully
count this is the person we lash out at the most with the excuse it’s OK it’s only Mom. Thinking of the old cliché “we always hurt the one we the love the most” truly believing
that all is forgiven… Mom’s tough she can handle it… Mom knows deep down that I really don’t mean it… well, Mom’s don’t know that.

I am following my guidance in the writing of this article because Mom’s need to be exalted…not trodden upon. Remember what I stated previously… God loves us enough that we are personally given an earthly Guardian Angel. Think about this for a moment… allow the monumental impact of that statement to sink in and all that encompasses. The one person that will always love you no matter what.

As we get older we don’t think
we need Mom quite as much as we did before and sometimes we think we don’t need her input at all… What does she know? She’s behind the times. If the truth be known and we really take the time to look at it… Mom still knows pretty much more than we do. She is the crone that has gone before us … experienced pretty much what we are going through now ourselves. Grant you times have changed and many Mom’s have not faced the extreme challenges that so many of the younger generation is facing now … like drugs, the extreme
peer pressure of joining a gang …male or female, but all the same the challenges were pretty much the same when she was growing up only in another format …drinking, smoking, sex,
guarding your reputation and with a lot more condemnation than is going on in 2005.

What I am trying to get across here is… Mom has lots of knowledge and lots experience for you to
tap into and to honor.

Mother’s day is coming up May 8th. and what will you do for your Mother ? Will you remember to pick up the telephone to make the long distance telephone call to Mom who is now 3,000 miles away or lives just around the block that you haven’t seen or talked to in several weeks? Will you remember to order, purchase or make a special gift for her ? To send her a Mother’s Day card that isn’t an e-mail ? … to just let her know how special she is to you … loved, honored and respected …

Remember …

God loves us enough that we are personally given an earthly Guardian Angel…

‘Mom’

One of God’s greatest gifts to us.
