California Attorneys and politicians are to blame for the energy crisis and blackouts and the ones, which will come this summer too. A simple study of finite capacity scheduling would have yielded the necessary tools for the CA state government to figure out what was actually feasible. They obviously did not understand the capacity of the power line and the amount of energy trading that would occur when deregulation took place. Obviously if someone is going to get a better deal on energy they are going to buy it somewhere else? You cannot energy futures when you do not have the power lines to move the energy to a different region, just like you cannot use the Ford factories excess capacity to make pharmaceuticals. Think of the problem; attorneys and politicians who are master manipulators of human emotion make policy on the deregulation of CA energy based on reports done by quote experts that were paid by government millions to do reports.
Of course, the reports may have been good or maybe not, but surely were only glanced at anyway by politicians who are not smart enough to understand or did not enough time to read, and may even conflict with the time necessary to campaign to get re-elected or sit down for lunch with those who finance their elections. Lots of people invested in Enron stock when CA was in an energy crisis, since they owned a lot of contracts. Their stock was inflated based on their future earnings that CA would never pay and later sue for. But was it really Enron’s fault or was it just stupid, ignorant California Attorneys and Politicians, who screwed California. After all deregulation was California’s idea in the first place to lower prices. Luckily Arnold has it right and he is putting together the department of energy for California to work with the DOE and get the crisis solved before peak season summer. Let’s hope they get things ready before California has its next disaster.
You know it is funny it took the terminator to turn California upright, those brown nose politicians have been bending over so long, they forgot which way was up. Thanks Arnold, thanks for listening.

graduation caps and gowns
In the past, most scholars had high structured gowns that they wore on a daily basis. Traditionally, the color of graduation caps and gowns was black but nowadays the use of this standard color has seized since there are variety of colors available depending with the field of study, institution or organization requirement. Change of color can also be customized by the theme of the academic institution. The graduation caps and gowns are also worn to symbolize peace, love and harmony for instance in monasteries but the main areas where they should be worn is in formal occasions like graduations.
Most of graduates prefer renting gowns and caps from their institution since they are cheaper hence they can afford. However, renting is not recommendable; buying is taken as the best way of acquiring caps and gowns. This is because it is very easy to make the right choice with the right qualities and colors. Also, it makes one have some pride because of wearing new graduation regalia’s that no one else has ever used. Nowadays there are different materials for the graduation caps and gowns from the original quality to the low quality material. That makes it possible for every graduate to manage buying the uniform.

It is not easy to get a grant these days. School scholarships are unlike the normal student loan because they are a grant for a college education, so it doesn’t need to be paid off. While exploring ways of funding a degree, check some of the more special choices, such as lefthander grants.
Lefty Scholarships
Visit and surf to this fantastic page for journalism clues
A lefty scholarship may seem a little bit crazy, but it’s worth considering these facts: Benjamin Franklin was a left hander, so is the president of the US, Barack Obama. Raphael, Da Vinci, Ringo Starr and Winston Churchill were left-handed as well. Close to 11% of the global population are left-handed. Frequently considered much more artistic and to have a higher IQ, lefthanders have frequently suffered from discrimination. Stigmatisation is now a thing of the past and lefthanders are no longer thought of as odd, as a matter of fact they are frequently linked with the great individuals referred to above. If you’re lefthanded and researching scholarships specifically for lefthanded students, a lot of grants for left-handed students are accessible which you may be able to acquire. A Beckley Scholarship for 1000 USD is presently available at Juniata College in Huntington, PA. For scholars attending Juniata College and launched in the late 1970’s, this school fund has aided forty plus students through school. When looking for scholarships, do be aware that many of them may have prerequisites or restrictions. This may be grade requirements and monetary needs, but not in every case. Multiple applications may give you a much better opportunity of graduating with a negligible amount of debt. Do look at community organizations, societies and hobby related groups. Left-handed bursaries are not a unique example; money is available in numerous different cases for example to the children of veterans or if you are disabled in any way.
Looking for school grants can be time-consuming, nonetheless the reward may be huge. Utilized along with standard lending, they should significantly cut the inevitable debt generated by a college degree. Ensure you research every scholarship. The above-mentioned funding is not the only alternative — and do be inventive! Go for everything you think you are qualified for, you may keep any debt to a minimum, and you’ll look forward to a more positive financial outlook on graduation.

With gasoline prices at the pump climbing strongly into the $2 slot, many people are becoming concerned about how high they may go, and what Congress should do about it, if anything. Petroleum prices effect the pricing of so many other products. Most of the items bought by consumers have been trucked some distance from a factory, to a warehouse, to a retail store. Consumer transportation, home heating, and electricity can also be adversely affected by rising fuel costs.
Besides capped oil wells and vast reserves in Alaska, the United States maintains a petroleum storage called the “U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve”. This government-owned stockpile of crude oil is stored away in a series of salt domes in Texas and Louisiana. Current records show the reserves to be holding 700 million barrels of crude. These reserves are held for national emergencies or during wartime efforts. A significant amount was withdrawn from these reserves during Desert Storm in 1990. As of late, the Bush Administration has been topping off these large salt caverns with crude, even as the price was on the rise.
Unfortunately, these vast reserves are only a drop in the barrel when compared with the United States domestic demand. Presently at 20 million barrels per day, the United States could completely drain this reserve in just 35 days. Of course, every country on the globe uses petroleum. Global demand is now at about 82 million barrels per day, and rising each year by about 2 million barrels per day. The Energy Information Administration website estimates total global reserves of petroleum at approximately 1.2 trillion barrels. It is unclear from the report viewed for this article as to whether this is a report of all known crude on the planet, or just the crude of developed sites. If it is an estimate of all known crude, than at current global usage—without increases in use— this indicates that 39-1/2 years of crude remains.
Some in U.S. Congress have been pushing the agenda to begin drilling in the Alaskan Wildlife Refuge. On March 16, a closely divided senate voted in favor to open Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling, moving the country one step closer to opening the Alaskan crude reserves. Experts estimate that the billions of barrels of oil beneath the 1.5 million-acre coastal plain can be extracted from key positions so as to cause minimal interruption to the surrounding area. Many political hurdles must be passed before drilling would be permissible. After committee reviews, the Senate and House both still must pass the final version of the proposal. Experts estimate that it would take 7 to 10 years of development before oil would be pumping from the ground.
Opponents argue that the volume of Alaskan oil will be insignificant to control petroleum prices, or to substantially reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Government models forecast that oil companies would be able to pump nearly 1 million barrels of oil per day from the Alaskan Refuge by the year 2025. At present U.S. demand, that represents 5% of daily consumption.
According to the Energy Information Administration website, the Middle East crude reserves account for 57% of global supply. The North American continent holds about 17%. The remaining 26% of supplies are somewhat evenly split around the globe, with the smallest volumes being in Asia and Western Europe, where crude demand is quite high. Much of the developed world relies on imported crude.

Keeping our hearts healthy is important, but how do we do it? Fortunately the answers to this are very clear.
Being overweight, particularly if you carry the weight around your waist, puts unnecessary strain on the heart. To find out if you have a problem you need to know your height to weight ratio (WHR). To work this out measure round your waist in centimetres and divide it by your hip circumference. The measurements need to be in centimetres, so if your measuring tape is in inches, multiply each measurement by 2.5 before dividing one by the other. If the figure you end up with is greater than 0.9 for men and 0.8 for women then your fat distribution is likely to be associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
Research has shown that many overweight people with angina, raised blood cholesterol and high blood pressure found their condition improved greatly, even after losing only some of their excess weight. Many of those who kept their weight off were able to reduce their medication or even stop it entirely.
Exercise is important for your heart too. If you take regular exercise, it will speed up your basal metabolic rate. This means that you will burn more calories, not only when you are exercising but for some time afterwards as well. People often imagine that they have to exercise hard to have an effect, but it’s enough just to take exercise that leaves you warm and breathing heavily, but still able to hold a conversation.
Did you know that each day most of us take between 3,000-4,000 steps? And that’s just not enough. Experts say that we should aim to take 10,000 steps to maintain a healthier lifestyle. Increasing to 10,000 steps a day will burn between 2,000 and 3,500 extra calories per week, which will result in achieving a vastly better health profile and longer lifespan. There are lots of ways you can increase the number of steps you take: get up to change the TV rather than using the remote; park further from the supermarket; take a walk around the local park or your garden/yard; walk rather than take the car on short journeys. Using a pedometer will help motivate you to clock up those extra steps.
Giving up smoking is likely to have a dramatic effect on your heart. Carbon monoxide produced when you smoke cigarettes attaches to red blood cells, so that in smokers up to half the blood can be carrying carbon monoxide rather than oxygen. No wonder many smokers are breathless! If you need help giving up smoking, try one of the books or CD’s by Allen Carr. He has helped thousands of people to give up.
And, if you don’t already, start flossing your teeth! This may seem bizarre in relation to the heart, but it has been shown that there is a link between gum disease and heart disease. The exact mechanism isn’t understood fully yet, but flossing your teeth and having regular dental checks is important for a healthy heart.
Finally, give and receive love. The scientific evidence isn’t there (yet) for how important this is for our hearts, but it has been established that people who have loving relationships also tend to have long and happy lives.

Algebra is a crucial branch in Mathematics, dealing with equations, inequalities, fractions and expressions. Being one of the major branches of mathematics, it forms an inherent part of primary education. Concepts in combinatorial mathematics, variables, polynomials and factorization are the main areas which algebra deals with. Advanced algebra also deals with symbols and set theory where the computation of unknown values is made possible based on certain predetermined facts.
Geometry is focused on using algebraic expressions to calculate dimensions of a circle, determining if a curve is a parabola or hyperbola or even pinning down the focus of a hyperbola. Be it simple operations such as determining the endpoints of a line or finding the radius of a circle, to more complicated operations such as figuring out if a parabola opens up; algebra is most fundamental for geometry.
Equipped with knowledge on how to play around with algebra, solving equations involving linear, quadratic or radicals will be no challenge . With algebra one can solve inequalities and even graph systems of radical equations and quadratic inequalities. Playing with exponents is no longer an issue when you start using algebra. As in with every other branch of mathematics, in algebra too, basic laws and principles can be applied to add, subtract, divide and multiply fractions in order to solve problems.
No matter in which area you find trouble when it comes to math, algebra solvers can assist you. The modern software that supports solving algebraic expressions are able to solve any math problem easily and in little time. even, complex matrix problems like inverse matrix and other matrix operations can be handled with the algebra calculator software. Simplification of algebraic and arithmetic expressions along with factoring polynomials to determining the Least Common Multiple and Greatest Common Divisor is now a walk in the park with the latest algebra solvers.
Students often get professional help from tutors who will provide you with a step-by-step answer for your problems. Math tutors are at your disposition for those hard problems which can get you easily bugged. The math solver software that is widely available in today’s market provide countless options to suit a student’s every need. When it comes to algebraic software, you will find different functions from algebraic calculators to other functions that can tackle any math problem.

Switching cell phone providers allows consumers the opportunity to purchase [or get for free after rebates] a new phone periodically. I recently made the switch and was given the usual list of phones to choose from. Being the thrifty guy that I am, I chose the one that had the least cost to me once rebates were factored in. No, I did not get the plain jane freebie model, rather I snagged Samsung’s SGH-x427m phone. Let’s take a look at this unit and see how it stacks up.
When I showed the Samsung phone to a friend, he asked me if it was a camera phone. Nope. However, it does have multi media messaging capabilities unlike its companion model the SGH-x427. The phone’s main features include 40 ring tones, a calendar, a 500 name phone book, a to-do list, a memo pad, and a wireless Web browser. Most cell phones boast a speakerphone, which the Samsung curiously does not have. The screen is bright and colorful and the buttons are easy to access.
The SGH-x427m weighs a paltry 2 1/2 ounces. It is a flip phone housed in a tiny, but attractive gray case. This particular model was made for Cingular, a similar model was made for AT&T, and the cost of the phone retails for around $100-120. With rebates your outlay should be minimal if not free. Of course, that means signing up for the two year plan with Cingular.
Reception has been good with few dropped calls. I haven’t experienced much static, but then again all my calls have been in the vicinity of a metropolitan area.
For the features that this phone offers, the price, the cell phone plan and for battery life — which is good — I give this phone a 3-star rating. It isn’t the plain jane freebie model, nor is it the top of the line can-do-everything model. Consumers interested in something better will want to shop elsewhere.
